2023 GREAT FISH COMMUNITY CHALLENGE
Code Girls United is excited to be participating in the Great Fish Community Challenge, an event hosted by the Whitefish Community Foundation and is a six week fundraising campaign. Your donation will support Code Girls United’s mission to build self confidence and expand the future career opportunities for 4th-8th grade Montana girls through free, hands-on education in coding, technology and business. Make your fully tax-deductible donation starting August 10, 2023.
ABOUT the great fish community challenge
The Great Fish Community Challenge is a six week fundraising campaign that inspires community-wide giving and builds awareness about the critical work of Flathead Valley nonprofits. At the conclusion of the campaign, Whitefish Community Foundation will award a percentage match on the first $20,000 raised by each participating organization. Nonprofits must raise at least $10,000 to be eligible for the match. The match is made possible by Whitefish Community Foundation’s Circle of Giving donors, as well as donors who designate their gift to the Great Fish Match Fund.
The Great Fish Fun Run & Community Celebration is scheduled for Saturday, September 9th in Depot Park in Whitefish. This event features 5K and one-mile courses, yummy BBQ, a nonprofit fair, prizes, and more! Creativity and costumes are encouraged! Children 12 and under can participate for free. Top male and female finishers in the Great Fish 5K and Great Fish 5K – Para Athlete will receive prizes and recommend a grant to their favorite Great Fish Community Challenge participating nonprofit. The Great Fish 5K – Para Athlete category is open to individuals with physical disabilities using mobility devices such as handcycles or push-rim wheelchairs. *Advanced registration is required. There is no day-of registration available.

The Great Fish Community Challenge giving period is August 10, 2023 through September 15, 2023.
Great fish matching grant
Organizations receive gifts designated to them. Those organizations that raise at least $10,000 will also receive a Great Fish Matching Grant. The Matching Grant will be a percentage match calculated on the first $20,000 raised by the organization.
