Location: Kalispell, Billings, statewide
Required Skills:
- Minimum 2+ years teaching experience, formal or in support of an organization
- Ability to engage and encourage young girls, making learning a fun and exciting environment
- Some understanding of and passion for education and technology (preferable some understanding of Computer Science or willingness to learn)
- An understanding of basic business principles or a willingness to learn
- Bachelor’s degree
- Experience working in a fast paced environment with a focus on delivering programs either in person or remotely
- Current education background check or the ability to pass one
To be successful in this role, we prefer that you have:
- K-12 teaching experience, or organizational experience teaching children
- Familiarity with Google Classroom

Code Girls United Board Member
About Code Girls United
Code Girls United (CGU) is a MT nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering girls with technology literacy and business skills through engaging programs that build confidence and unlock future career opportunities. CGU provides free computer science, AI, cybersecurity, entrepreneurship, and technology programs to students across MT, with a particular focus on rural and Tribal communities. We serve over 1000 students per year in 38+ locations. In the Gallatin County region we have 6 programs and summer camps.
Position Summary
Code Girls United is seeking committed and engaged individuals in Gallatin County to serve on its Board of Directors. Board members provide leadership, oversight, and support to help CGU fulfill its mission, strengthen its organization, and expand its impact.
Board service is more than attending meetings. We are looking for people who are willing to open doors, make connections, advocate for CGU, support fundraising, and actively contribute their expertise and energy to the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Governance & Fundraising
- Participate in board meetings, discussions, and planning.
- Provide thoughtful oversight of the organization’s programs, finances, and operations.
- Serve as an ambassador for CGU in the community.
- Support CGU’s fundraising efforts through personal giving at a level appropriate to the board member’s circumstances.
- Help identify potential donors, sponsors, foundations, corporate partners, and other funding opportunities.
- Make introductions and open doors to individuals and organizations that may support CGU.
- Attend or assist with fundraising events and donor activities.
- Help communicate CGU’s impact and value to potential supporters.
Community Engagement & Support
- Build awareness of CGU and its programs within professional, educational, business, technology, Tribal, and community networks.
- Represent CGU positively at community events and meetings.
- Help develop partnerships that create opportunities for students and the organization.
- Advocate for the importance of computer science, AI literacy, technology skills, entrepreneurship, and workforce readiness for young people.
- Contribute professional knowledge, experience, and connections that can strengthen CGU.
- Serve on committees or take on specific projects as needed.
- Help recruit additional board members, volunteers, mentors, and community partners.

- Willing to support fundraising and resource development.
Professional experience in technology, business, finance, marketing, law, and in particular fundraising is particularly valuable, but CGU welcomes individuals with a variety of backgrounds and perspectives.
Time Commitment
- Attend regularly scheduled board meetings.
- Participate in committee or project work as appropriate.
- Attend or support selected CGU events and activities.
- Make time throughout the year to assist with fundraising, partnerships, advocacy, or other board priorities.
